Meaning of Easter
This past Saturday Savannah and I were having a Bible study with T, a Vietnamese high school student. T is a new believer. As we talked about the long weekend she had from school, I asked her if she knew the significance of Easter. She replied, “I know it’s about bunnies and finding eggs.” Having been raised in a Buddhist family, this answer is not surprising. We shared with her the good news that Easter is about Christ’s resurrection and how, as believers, we celebrate His victory over death. After talking for a bit we decided that the topic of Easter might be a good way of sharing about Christ with her family. We gave T three Bibles to give to her family. She shared with us later that she had already given one of the Bibles to her brother, P, who received it well and began reading it. Please pray for T’s growing faith and her opportunities to share Christ with her family.
This upcoming week, we will be working with a volunteer team from Booneville , Arkansas . They will be working alongside us in the Vietnamese and East Indian communities by prayerwalking, gospel distribution and evangelism work. Pray for their work as we continue to seek to find those interested in studying the Bible.
Brent will leave for Vietnam on April 5th and return late on April 19th. We would like to thank each of you that have supported this trip financially and share with you how you can continue to support this trip with your prayers.
Prayer Requests for Vietnam Trip
In Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC,) we'll meet with university students and participate in other ministries. In Territory 5 we'll work in orphanages and look for persons of peace with whom to make friendships and share the Gospel. Please pray for the IMB missionaries with whom we'll be working. We don't even know their names, as the country is "closed" to the Gospel.
April 6th - arrive late, check-in to hotel
April 7th - orientation and Ho Chi Minh City/Vietnam time
April 8th - Ho Chi Minh City time (processing through jet lag, food, transportation issues, etc)
April 9th - depart for Rach Gia via airplane, settle into hotel and discover city.
April 10th to 16th – travel around Territory 5 via boat, car, motorbike, etc.
April 16th or 17th – depart Phu Quoc Island for Ho Chi Minh City
April 17th and 18th – Time in Ho Chi Minh City
April 19th – depart Ho Chi Minh City for home.
