* Update on Barbie Booth:
She had some relief at the outset from the injection. The intent is for the
nerve to heal while the swelling is reduced by the shot. That will take a
couple of weeks, so don't take us off the prayer chain! We feel blessed
that it seems to be working as the doctor hoped. Richard
* Update on Ed Blackard's mother:
Roughly 2 weeks ago when Mom was still in the hospital, she had a screen
installed in a vein to keep the blood clot in her right leg from going to
her heart and a stint installed in one of her kidneys to allow it to drain.
These were relatively simple procedures, and she experienced no
complications. She also had a colonoscopy that was intended to be used to
scope out surgery on the colon. The pleasant surprise was that it revealed
there was no cancer on the colon. The source of her bleeding was determined
to be radiation proctitis, or damage to the colon tissue caused by her
previous radiation treatments. Based on this, they will not do surgery for
now. She was given some medicine to help with the bleeding and was placed
on a soft diet. My last update from her was that the bleeding had stopped
and she will have chemo this Friday if everything still looks good. Her
attitude has improved tremendously. Thanks for praying for her.
* Bro. David McLemore did have chemo yesterday. He says he doesn't
really feel change following the treatments ie: doesn't feel more nauseated,
etc. He is still schedule to see radiation Dr. on Monday, 3/17 to see if he
wants to continue to have radiation treatments.
* Alice Morell is still off work with an abscessed root from a wisdom
tooth that was removed some time back.
