Hey Family,

Thought you may like to know our latest life episode....

After using our Entrust Debit card at Tesco Lotus (the Wal-Mart of Asia and
UK) to purchase groceries and stuff Saturday, and having checked our balance
on Monday...Eric went to withdrawal a few dollars Tuesday and got only a
message in Thai that he could not read.  Thinking that the system was down
(as is occasionally the case with banks from America) he called Dana to make
sure things were still okay on-line.  Dana checked to make sure that the
account had around 5K in it, only to discover it was over-drawn by $700....
$5,700 GONE!  

Naturally we panicked, but as Dana looked at the purchase history on line,
she noticed that a bunch of the purchases where in Cardiff, Wales.  We would
LOVE to spend money in Wales, but NOT love having someone else spend it for
us! 

We could not figure out how to call an 800 number from outside America, so
we called Greg and had him do it while we tried other things.  Dana was able
to get in touch with VISA by phone and stop the card.    Later yesterday
evening we called Entrust (our bank in Richmond) and began the process of
straightening things out.

They say that there is no problem getting us our money back; just the
trouble of canceled cards and reissuing of cards...  At first they would
only send the cards to our permanent address in America...our folks!  Well
wouldn't you know it.....the DAY our parents leave for Australia  trouble
arrives and we need them!!!  Ha ha ha...  Well, Entrust (the bank which
holds ALL the money for the International Mission Board...hint hint) is
going to mail our cards directly to us instead!

We have located the source of the problem as the Tesco Store in our
neighborhood ....Eric and another M (certified in fraud management... don't
ask me how you get certified in fraud management...) are going to the store
tomorrow morning to inform the store of the incident.

Wonders never cease!  Problems are never far away.  But God is greater than
all the wonders of the world and His solutions are even closer!  (Thank God
we have two other accounts in two different banks and in two different
countries!!!)

Do pray that it all gets sorted out without too much hassle...

(No......still no word on our visa....   We stopped asking, too......)
