Mike McSheehy had an appointment with his oncologist, Dr. Sneed, Tuesday,
November 6th, and had his 4th chemotherapy treatment. All of his lab
results were good and he is maintaining his weight. He is also tolerating
this level of treatment very well.
The first request to go to MD Anderson Cancer Center was denied because a
surgical resection of the tumor could not be done at this time. It
continues to be in a location that is dangerous. A second request to go to
MD Anderson for a consult is still being considered. This decision is being
made by the Cancer Center, not the insurance company. Dr. Sneed is wanting
the GI department at MD Anderson to take a further look at things, and
possibly run their own tests on Mike. Dr. Sneed said they may know
something more in another week on that.
Meanwhile, another CT Scan has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 20th, to
determine if the chemotherapy is being effective. If that returns with no
change, another direction for treatment might be considered.
On the positive side, Mike has felt remarkably better. Some of his side
effects have disappeared, and more importantly, his energy level has
increased. The family continues to trust God for Mike's complete healing
and thank everyone for their love, prayers and support.
