Subject: Prayer Request for our Pastor Stephen Davis, First Baptist Church

Here's the latest news from Bro. Stephen:
 =20
Stephen is likely to be dismissed from the hospital today or tomorrow. Th=
e delay has not been due to any changes in his condition or anything alarmi=
ng. Instead, his doctor has simply decided to redo some neurological tests=
that Stephen had undergone in the past year or so. Obviously, his heart h=
as been relatively unstable in the last few months and his doctor wanted to=
eliminate any risk that they were missing anything.

=20
So far, there have been no new discoveries. The plan still seems to call f=
or an extended period of intensive rest - 30 days or so - while they experi=
ment with the right combination of drugs to prod his ventricle into correct=
functioning will limiting the atrial fib. Obviously, during this time, hi=
s blood flow, heart rate, and oxygen level in the blood will be monitored v=
ery carefully.
 =20
Stephen and Jonya are seriously considering remaining in Little Rock for at=
least a portion of this rest period. They will be meeting with Dr. Meachu=
m virtually daily, at least in the beginning, so it makes little sense to d=
rive back and forth. Also, Jonya has continuing appointments regarding the=
reconstruction of her teeth (including an extraction today), so staying in=
Little Rock makes even more sense.
 =20
Just continue to pray that Stephen rests, that the medication continues to =
work, and that they have peace about the decision to remain in Little Rock =
for a while. Again, please feel free to forward this to any you feel would=
 like an update.
