an update came from Felecia West regarding her mother. She said I could =
share it with the church family. . .
"God has been so gracious allowing us to spend time as a=20
family laughing and talking, asking questions and sharing thoughts and=20
memories. My brother, sister & I have become much closer, and what =
parent=20
wouldn't love that? Dad commented the other day how great it was for =
them=20
to see just the three of us in a room together having a such a good =
time.=20
(It had been almost 28 years since it was just the five of us in one =
house!)
As for Mom's health it is deteriorate rather quickly. She spends most =
of=20
her time in bed now, mentally she is confused a lot, unable to =
understand=20
simple questions at times, then at other times she remembers more =
clearly=20
than we do and is able to be up. A lot of that is caused by hemorrhagic =
strokes which also causes visual disturbances, extremity weakness or=20
numbness, personality changes and speech problems. These symptoms =
usually=20
clear within a few hours, but are quickly followed by another stroke,=20
sometimes 4-5 a day, other days none that we notice. Unfortunately at =
the=20
onset of these strokes is a severe headache. We try to keep her =
medication=20
at a level that she doesn't have that severe pain but that means =
continually=20
increasing the amount of pain medication she takes routinely, therefore=20
increasing the state of confusion.
We are very fortunate in the fact that through it all she has had an =
awesome=20
attitude and says that what ever God has in store she can handle. Her=20
attitude and outlook has been a source of strength and peace for all of =
us.
Thank you so much for your prayers and concern for my family. The =
prayers=20
of our friends and family can be felt on a daily bases, it is a peace =
and=20
comfort that can only come from God. I love and miss my church family =
in=20
Russellville. Hope to see you soon. Your sister in Christ, Felecia"
Please continue to lift Felecia's family in your prayers . . . linda
