<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">O</SPAN><FONT size=3>ur house church was different this month than in the past months. <SPAN> </SPAN>Schools went back into session this month, so we were a bit curious how that would affect our church attendance.<SPAN> </SPAN>We had 30 or so two Sundays ago so we were pleasantly surprised!<SPAN> </SPAN>The children continue to come and listen to the Bible stories..<SPAN> </SPAN>The adults come, too, and I believe learn a bit each week about what being a Christian is all about… (We study English through bible verses….)<SPAN> </SPAN>It still gives me chills to hear the Thai’s saying out loud, “Jesus loves me just the way I am”…</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"><B><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">T</SPAN><FONT size=3>his past Sunday, however, we w<IMG height=126 hspace=12 width=166 align=left>e<IMG height=130 hspace=12 width=172 align=left>nt to a gathering of four to five churches who, annually, get together in another province and have a joint baptismal service.<SPAN> We</SPAN> work with A. SamLit a great deal in this community, and he asked Dana and me if we could take a number of baptismal candidates to the worship service since none of them have automobiles and would, most likely, find it very difficult to get there.<SPAN> </SPAN>(They only get one chance a year to be baptized)<SPAN> </SPAN>Also, he wanted us to share in the experience of great joy in the celebration!<SPAN> </SPAN>We had a great time celebrating with them
(kids and all).<SPAN> </SPAN>We managed to fit about 18 people into our van and sing and laugh and chat all the while!)<SPAN> </SPAN><SPAN> </SPAN><SPAN> </SPAN></FONT></B></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">W</SPAN><FONT size=3>e are still working on the plans for <I>New America Singers</I> to perform in Nakhon Sawan.<SPAN> </SPAN>Dana and I met with the mayor and asked permission to use a public theater and were given permission, pending a ‘formal’ letter asking for the use of the space.<SPAN> </SPAN>We have received word from the group that they do, indeed, plan to perform here, so Dana and I plan to go to the mayor’s office tomorrow to give him the letter and take care of other details.<SPAN> </SPAN>(Since this writing, we went to the mayor’s office and dropped off the formal letter… he was out of town.)</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 16pt; COLOR: #663300">T</SPAN><FONT size=3>he video project is coming along well.<SPAN> </SPAN>Our project is to make a video that will, in some ways, show the average Thai (religious) thinking and life.<SPAN> </SPAN>With the help of many people, the interviews went well and hopefully we got all of the footage that we need.<SPAN> </SPAN>Jim Larson is still planning on finishing the project by early June; when he returns to America for several months.</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">T</SPAN><FONT size=3>he ‘songtow’ advertising project is moving along.<SPAN> </SPAN>A “songtow” is a truck with a tall top on the bed of it and benches on the sides; used as a taxi in our city.<SPAN> </SPAN>There are hundreds of them that have distinct routes that they drive each and every day.<SPAN> </SPAN>We are renting the ‘sides’ of them and plan to have signs put on them!<SPAN> </SPAN>We hope to have our first set of slogans on the songtows by the first of July.<SPAN> </SPAN>(Ambitious, but perhaps doable.)<SPAN> </SPAN>If not in July, then perhaps mid August.<SPAN> </SPAN>The signs will introduce God to them through a series of ‘truths’ that they will relate to, then on to Jesus.</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">T</SPAN><FONT size=3>he June plans we had to teach English in two different neighborhoods (houses) have all but fallen through.<SPAN> </SPAN>We were working with SamLit to gather together individuals at two different homes by teaching English Bible lessons.<SPAN> </SPAN>A couple of things occurred that made one house unavailable, and the other house unlikely.<SPAN> </SPAN>It had been suggested that we move the lessons to a local school and continue with the plan, but I began to have a bad feeling about it, so I pulled out altogether.<SPAN> </SPAN>Our goal is to foster ‘house church’… not ‘school church’ (government property).<SPAN> </SPAN>Since making the decision to pull out, we feel much better about moving on in cultivating the idea of house church. </FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">S</SPAN><FONT size=3>amlit and I had great visits with the directors of four different schools in planning for volunteers to teach during July.<SPAN> </SPAN>We drove to and found<SPAN> </SPAN>(…an event in itself!) two grammar schools and two middle schools (?) where it was explained that volunteers from America were coming and would like to, free of charge, spend half a day at each school in order to teach English (with Biblical content) to the students.<SPAN> </SPAN>All in all, it would be an estimated 1500 students.<SPAN> </SPAN>We were very grateful to SamLit for doing all the prep-work beforehand, which made the meeting go very smoothly and with a flare of confidence and integrity.<SPAN> </SPAN>We look forward to those
events being carried off well, which should continue to boost “Christianity” in this area of Thailand.</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman"><B><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">W</SPAN><FONT size=3>e have enlarg<IMG height=208 hspace=12 width=276 align=left>ed our sitting area on the street in front of our house.<SPAN> </SPAN>(This may have been part of last months report also, but even if it was, we are still seeing results of it this month)<SPAN> </SPAN>Our old sitting area was not nearly large enough to accommodate the people who venture our way each night.<SPAN> </SPAN>Our routine has been the same since we moved into this house.<SPAN> </SPAN>We go outside in the late afternoon, then come inside for dinner at 5pm…then go back outside from then to 7pm.<SPAN> </SPAN>Often, there are </FONT></B><FONT size=3><B>people sitting and waiting on us to come back outside.<SPAN> </SPAN>We tripled the brick area
and added another matching Thai bench.<SPAN> </SPAN>Naturally we had to add plants and things to complete the area… but it works for us.<SPAN> </SPAN>We are so pleased when we see people from the neighborhood sitting on our benches and talking with one another.<SPAN> </SPAN>They know that ‘our benches are their benches’ also.<SPAN> </SPAN>Dana and I are so flattered to be a true part of this community.<SPAN> </SPAN><SPAN> </SPAN>We have also seen some of the parents become more playful with their children; we never saw this 5 months ago.</B></FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">W</SPAN><FONT size=3>e are still praying about other work in Nakhon Sawan.<SPAN> </SPAN>There is so much more that we can be doing…but we are waiting on God’s timing.<SPAN> </SPAN>We are continuing to make friends/acquaintances with the groups of people we are calling ‘construction workers’.<SPAN> </SPAN><SPAN> </SPAN>There are at least 5 different areas (some very close to one another) where houses are being built and the workers live there under tents or in temporary thrown-together houses.<SPAN> </SPAN>They are just sitting and WAITING for someone to bring them hope!<SPAN> </SPAN>In them, we have a captive audience.<SPAN> </SPAN>I know that I am not the one… but we are praying for ‘the one’ to be shown to
us.<SPAN> </SPAN>The one who will relate to them and, more importantly, them to him/her.<SPAN> </SPAN>I believe we are getting closer to finding that person.<SPAN> </SPAN>Please keep praying for this area of ministry, as it is heavy on out hearts.</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300"><FONT face="Times New Roman"></FONT></SPAN></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">There</SPAN><FONT size=3> are others areas yet to be tried, but all in good time.<SPAN> </SPAN>I still have a burden for many other areas, but am waiting for a more clear vision on how to engage them.</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">We were happy to find out, this week, that two of our stories are going to be featured on IMB.ORG website.<SPAN> </SPAN>And also that Sophie is going to be the featured MK for November 2006 MK Calendar… Although recognition is never something we seek, it is a confirmation that God is watching…<SPAN> </SPAN>Sort of a splash of hot fudge on top of the <I>already wonderful</I> ice cream!</FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #663300">E</SPAN><FONT size=3>ach day brings a personal challenge… How many sweets can I ingest without gaining too much weight…?<SPAN> </SPAN>How much IS too much weight!!<SPAN> </SPAN>(The middle-age bulge is an ever-present factor around us newly 40-year-olds…ARG!@#@!#)<SPAN> </SPAN></FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: maroon">D</SPAN><FONT size=3>ana and I constantly evaluate all that we are doing to insure that we are making the most of our day and following God in every way possible.<SPAN> </SPAN>We call it being ‘spiritually vigilant’……<SPAN> </SPAN></FONT></FONT></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B><FONT face="Times New Roman"><FONT size=3><SPAN></SPAN></FONT></FONT></B><B><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3></FONT></B> </P>
